Mr. Daniel moved the bill entitled, an act to simplify and abridge
the rules and forms of conveyances, be taken up for the second
reading.                                                     

On motion of Mr. Partridge,
The bill was postponed till to-morrow.

Mr. Goldsborough from the Select Committee reported favora-
bly on a bill entitled an act in favor of Robert G. Price former
collector of Queen Anne's county.               

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Claims.

A bill entitled, an act granting the assent of the Legislature to
a bequest of a legacy made in the will of Sarah Haywood of
Somerset Parish in said county;

Was read the second time, and

On motion of Mr. Merrick,                         

It was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

A bill entitled an act to refund to John B. Nichols collector of
the first collection district of Anne Arundel county, certain moneys
over paid by him into the Treasury of Maryland;
Was read the first time.

Mr. Daniel from the Select Committee reported favorably on a
bill entitled, an act to make compensation to William J. Byrd for
a certain case argued in the Court of Appeals for the State of
Maryland, by the appointment of the Governor thereof;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Claims.

Also a bill entitled, an act to compensate John Cullen for cer-
tain monies expended by him in execution, of the laws, for the
protection of oysters of this State:           

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Claims.                                                               

A bill entitled, an act to reduce into a general law the per diem
of county Commissioners, Judges of the Orphan's Court and
Trustees of the Poor of the several counties of this State;

Was taken up for its second reading. Pending the rending.

On motion of Mr. Partridge,
The enacting clause was stricken
On motion of Mr. Silver,                 

The rules were suspended to introduce a bill entitled, an act
authorizing the Comptroller to affix to Licenses a stamp instead of
his signature;
