Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpora-

Mr. Harrington presented a memorial of Mrs. Catharine S. Mc-
Kim, of the city of Baltimore, praying to be allowed a pension
for the services of her husband in the war of the revolution.

Referred to the Committee on Pensions and Revolutionary
Pensions.                           

Mr. Stubbs presented a petition for a charter for a Railroad
from the Pennsylvania line to Port Deposit, Md.,

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.                         

The same gentleman also presented a petition of sundry citi-
zens of Cecil county to compel, the Susquehanna Canal Compa-
ny to put said Canal in good order or annul the charter of the
same,

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.

Mr. Harding presented a memorial of the President and Di-
rectors of the Metropolitan Railroad Company.

Which was referred to the consideration of the Senate.

The Speaker laid before the House a report from the Trustees
of Charlotte Hall School of St. Mary's county, Md.

On motion of Mr. Harris,

It was referred to the Committee on Education.

Laid over one day.                                                       

On motion of Mr. Stone,

Ordered, That there be appointed a Standing Committee of
this House, upon public roads and highways;

Also, Ordered, That the Committee on Education be re-
quested to enquire into the expediency of releasing the Trustees
of Charlotte Hall School from a debt due to the State;

Which was read and adopted.

On motion of Mr. Wright,                     

Leave was granted to the Committee on Internal Improve-
ments to introduce a bill to confirm the title of the General In-
surance Company of Maryland to the Franklin Turnpike Road".

On motion of Mr. Clark,                                     

Leave was granted to introduce a bill, to authorise the Clerk
of the Circuit Court for Talbot county, to have certain old land
records in his office repaired;
