in a bill empowering the County Commissioners of Worcester
county, to levy fifteen dollars annually for the support of Marga-
ret Jane Paradise.

Mr. Silver, chairman of the Committee on Corporations, repor-
ted favorably on a bill, entitled an act to incorporate the Presi-
dent and Directors of the Howard Fire Insurance Company of
Baltimore.

Mr. Stone, from a select committee, reported a bill, entitled an
act to allow Walter Mitchell, former Clerk of Charles county
further time to complete his collections.

Mr. Lester, from a select committee, reported favorably on a
bill, entitled an act for the increase of the capital stock of the
Baltimore Copper Smelting Company.                   

The Secretary of the Senate delivered

A bill, entitled an act to carry into effect the thirty-fifth section
of the third article of the Constitution of this State, in regard to
the eligibility of persons to the offices therein specified and men-

tioned.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee
on Judiciary,

Mr. Stubbs, from a select committee, reported a farther supple-
ment to a bill, entitled on act to incorporate the Baltimore and
Philadelphia Railroad Company,

Which was referred to the Committee on Internal Improve-
ments.                                                                                       

Mr. Hall, from a select committee, reported a bill, entitled an
act appropriating a sum of money for the use of James G. Hen-
ning, clerk of the Circuit Court of Montgomery county,

Which was referred to the Committee on Claims.

Also, a bill, entitled an act to amend the charter of the Mary
land Institution for the Instruction of the Blind, passed at January
session, 1853,           

Which was referred to the Committee on Corporation.

Mr. Daniel, reported from a select committee, a bill entitled an
act to authorize the devise and bequest of Margaret A. Ward, to
the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal church at Kingston and
Merumsco, in Somerset county.

Mr. Abbott, from a select committee, reported favorably on a
bill, entitled an act to provide for the payment of A. C. Huegue-
nin, for a clock for the Senate Chamber and the repairs of a
clock for the Court of Appeals.

Mr. Partridge from the select committee to whom was referred
the compilation and digest of the license laws made by E. O.
