1856.]           OP THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES.

Hinckley, Esq., reported favorably thereon, and recommend that
it be printed as a bill for the action of the House.

On motion of Mr. Askew,

The report was adopted.                                 

Mr. Daniel, from the select Committee, reported favorably on a
bill, entitled an act to change the name of George Smith, of
Washington county to that of William Clark Funk.

                                                                                 

On motion,

The rules were suspended to receive memorials from sundry
citizens, praying a reduction of tolls on the Northern Central
Railroad,

Which were referred to a special committee composed of
Messrs. Rankin, Abbott, Reichard, Brooke and Daniel.

On motion of Mr. Kennedy,

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporation to bring in
a bill to amend the "act to incorporate the Bank of Commerce,
passed January session 1854, chap. 235.

A bill entitled, an act to authorise the devise and bequesting of
Margaret. A. Ward to the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal
Church at Kingston and Merumsco in Somerset county;

Read the first time.                                          

A bill entitled, an act to allow Walter Mitchell, former clerk of
Charles county court further time to complete, his collections;

Which was read the first time.

On motion of Mr. Davis,
The rules were suspended to enable him to introduce a bill to
refund certain money erroneously paid into the treasury by Isaac
Skinner;                                                                             

Referred to the Frederick .County delegation,

On motion of Mr. Silver,                                              

The rules were suspended to report a bill entitled, an act to
empower the Treasurer to exchange and transfer the stock held by
the State of Maryland in the Central Bank of Frederick, or, to sell,
said stock to the said Central Bank of Frederick;

Which was read the first time.

Also, a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Baltimore, Steam
Towing Company;          

A bill entitled, an act to make valid certain deeds from the
Langollen Mining Company to William Lannon;

Which was read the second time.
