Mr. Hall, submitted the following message:

By the House of Delegates.

January 23d, 1856.

Gentlemen of the Senate

We have received the message from your Honorable body pro-
posing to proceed to the appointment of the Joint Committee for
the investigation of the proceedings of the Board of Visitors and
Governors of St. John's College authorized by the resolution pass-
ed at December Session 1852, No 41, and concur therein.

We have appointed on the part of this House, Messrs. Hall,
Heath, and Clark.

Thos. H. Kent, of Jos., C'lk.

Mr. Askew submitted the following,

Ordered, That a special Committee of three be appointed to
consider the claim of Richard B. Carmichael, Grafton L. Dulaney
and D. E. H. Emory as arbitrators, under the act of December
Session 1846, Chapter 347, and that they have leave to report by
bill or otherwise;         

Which was read and adopted.


On motion of Mr. Carper,

Leave was granted leave to introduce a bill to allow J. C.
Stoneburner one of the administrators of John Cunrod dec'd., to
make a deed to John L. Jordan, for an interest in a certain lot of
land described in the deed.

On motion of Mr. Rankin,              

Leave was .granted leave for the Baltimore county dele-
gation to introduce a bill to amend the act of 1854, chapter 144
entitled, an act to provide for the erection of a court-house and,
other appropriate buildings in Baltimore county.

On motion of Mr. Scott,

Leave was granted leave to introduce a bill to direct the
Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cecil county to record a deed there-
in named.                                                                            

On motion of Mr. Timmons,                       

Leave was granted to the Worcester county delegation to

bring in a bill to authorize the Register of Wills and the Clerk

of the Circuit Court of Worcester county to have certain books

in their offices, that are in a dilapidated condition, repaired.

On motion of Mr. Timmons,                         

Leave was granted to the Worcester county delegation to bring
