The Chief Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and
delivered the following message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 205 1916.

Gentlemen of the Senate:

We propose, with concurrence of your Honorable Body, to
proceed to the election of the Treasurer of the State of Mary-
land, by joint ballot, in accordance with the provisions of
Section 1 of Article 6 of the Constitution of the State, on
Thursday, January 20, 1916, at 4 o'clock P. M., after the man-
ner and form of the first ballot cast for the election of the
Treasurer of the State, and we have appointed the same tel-
lers who officiated as such on the first ballot.

Mr. Frick moved that the Senate non-concur in the message
from the House of Delegates.

Mr. Archer moved as a substitute motion that the Senate
concur in the message from the House of Delegates, which
