The tellers appointed by the Senate and House of Delegates
to count the votes cast for Treasurer of Maryland beg leave
to report that:

The votes cast by the Senate were................ 27

The votes cast by the House were................ 100

Making in all............................ 127 votes

Of which number Hon. Murray Vandiver received. 6^ votes

Hon. Henry A. Osborne, Jr., received............ 10 votes

Hon. Robert F. Duer received.................... 55 votes

We therefore report that no candidate having received a
constitutional majority, there is no election.

INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.
By Mr. Johnson:

Senate Bill No, 38, entitled "An Act to authorize and direct
the County Commissioners of Howard county to employ one

attorney-at-law to act as legal advisor and represent the
Board of County Commissioners of Howard county, the Board
of School Commissioners of Howard county, County Treasurer
and Collector of Howard county, County Surveyor and En-
gineer of Howard county, and the Board of Supervisors of
Elections of Howard county; to provide for his compensation
and to abolish the special counsel now acting and existing
for said Boards and to repeal all Acts or parts of Acts in-
consistent with this Act. "

[Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance. ]
