The Senators, as their names were called, advanced, handed
their ballot to one of the tellers (Mr. Cooper), who inspected
same and handed them to the other teller (Mr. Zihlman),
who announced the name of the candidate voted for; said
ballots were then deposited in the ballot box.

The Senators voted as follows:

The President voted for Hon. Murray Vandiver.
Mr. Allen voted for Hon. Robert F. Duer.
Mr. Archer voted for Hon. Henry A. Osborne, Jr.
Mr. Bennett voted for Hon. Murray Vandiver.
Mr. Bomberger voted for Hon. Robert F. Duer.
Mr. Brown voted for Hon. Robert F. Duer.
Mr. Chesley voted for Hon. Robert F. Duer.
Mr. Collier voted for Hon. Murray Vandiver.
Mr. Cooper voted for Hon. Murray Vandiver.
Mr. Duvall voted for Hon. Murray Vandiver.
Mr. Frick voted for Hon. Murray Vandiver.
Mr. Harrison voted for Hon. Murray Vandiver.
Mr. Holmead voted for Hon. Murray Vandiver.
Mr. Johnson voted for Hon. Murray Vandiver.
Mr. Jones voted for Hon. Henry A., Osborne, Jr.
Mr. Joy voted for Hon. Robert F. Duer.
Mr. Kaufman voted for Hon. Robert F. Duer.
Mr. Legg voted for Hon. Murray Vandiver..
Mr. Mudd voted for Hon. Robert F. Duer.
Mr. Norris voted for Hon. Murray Vandiver.
Mr. Ogden voted for Hon. Murray Vandiver.
Mr. Parsons voted for Hon. Robert F. Duer.
Mr. Shepherd voted for Hon. Murray Vandiver.
Mr. Speicher voted for Hon. Robert F. Duer.

Mr. Zihlman voted for Hon. Robert F. Duer.

Totals: Hon. Murray Vandiver, 14; Hon. Henry A. Osborne,
Jr., 2; Hon. Robert F. Duer, 11.

[Which result was verified by the tellers. ]

The tellers then retired, with the ballot box, to count the
ballots conjointly with the tellers from the House of Dele-
gates.

At 3. 45 o'clock P. M. the tellers returned and submitted
the following report:
