HOUSE BILLS—FIRST READING.

The President distributed the following message from the
House of Delegates, being House Bill No. 176, entitled "An
Act to make the thoroughfare in the Thirteenth Election Dis-
trict of Baltimore county leading southerly from Rolling road
beside the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad to Viaduct avenue at
Relay, a county road and public highway, and to provide for
the widening and maintenance of the same. [Endorsed: "Read
the third time and passed by yeas and nays. "] [Which was
read the first time and referred to Senators Allen, Archer and
Frick].

Also House Bill No. 226, entitled "An Act to pension dis-
abled volunteer firemen, their widows and dependent children,
and to appropriate a sum of money to carry said Act into
effect. " [Endorsed: "Read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays. "] [Which was read the first time and referred to
the Committee on Finance. ]

Also House Bill No. 234, entitled "An Act to add a new sec-
tion to Article 4 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland, as
the same was amended and re-enacted by Chapter 567 of the
Acts of 1912, title 'City of Baltimore, ' sub-title 'Police'; said
new sections to come under sub-title and to follow immedi-
ately as Section 777-A. " [Endorsed: "Read the third time and
passed by yeas and nays"] [Which was read the first time
and referred to the City Senators. ]

Also House Bill No. 281, entitled "An Act to authorize and
empower the State Roads Commission of Maryland to build,
construct and maintain a State road from a point beginning
at Jarrettsville, Harford county, and running thence in a
northwesterly direction along said road, as now laid out,
through Madonna and Bethel Church, to a point near Black
Horse, Harford county, and to further define its powers in
reference to such building, construction and maintenance. "
[Endorsed: "Read the third time and passed by yeas and
nays. "] [Which was read the first time and referred to the
Committee on Roads and Highways. ]

Also House Bill No. 291, entitled "An Act to repeal Sections
1 and 2 of Article 2-A, as the same are numbered and set forth
in the Annotated Code of Maryland, as legalized by Chapter
21 of the Acts of 1912 and Chapter 16 of the Acts of 1914 of
the General Assembly of Maryland, title 'Agriculture, ' and
re-enact the same, with amendments, and to add four new sec-
tions to said Article 2-A of said Annotated Code of Maryland,
to follow immediately after Section 6 of said Article 2-A and
