the negative either of the above-provided questions shall not
be allowed to cast his ballot. The questions provided in this
section and in Section 7 of this Act to be asked the voters
who present themselves to cast their ballot in all elections
provided for in this charter, shall be propounded to each ap-
plicant to vote, under oath, by the constituted election officials
under the provisions of this Act, and any voter answering
falsely either of the questions herein provided, to determine
his right to vote, shall be guilty of a crime of perjury and
shall be subject to the penalties for perjury, provided for
by the laws of the State of Maryland, '" [Which was read

INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.
By Mr. Williams, by request: Senate Bill No. 627, entitled
"An Act to add four sections to Article 62 of the Code of
Public General Laws of 1904, title 'Marriages, ' prohibiting
marriage in another State or country in evasion or violation
of the laws of this State by persons residing therein, and
prohibiting marriages in this State by persons residing in
another State or jurisdiction in evasion or violation of the
laws of the State or jurisdiction of domicile. " [Which was
read the first time and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings. ]
By Mr. Harrison: Senate Bill No. 628, entitled "An Act
to establish a standard for the grading, packing, marking,
shipping and marketing of apples when packed in barrels or
other closed packages. " [Which was read the first time and
referred to the Committee on Inspection. ]
By the President: Senate Bill No. 629, entitled "An Act
to appropriate a sum of money to defray the expenses for
printing the third reading file Bills of the House and Senate,
provision for which is not made in the existing law, nor em-
bodied in the contract awarded by the Board of Public Works,
in the State printing contract for the Legislature of Mary-
land, Session of 1916. " [Which was read the first time and
referred to the Committee on Finance. ]

to direct incorporated towns to follow, for local purposes,
the rules for uniform taxation, as provided by Article 15 of
the Declaration of Rights for the levying of State, county
