By the President: Senate Bill No. 566, entitled "An Act to
add a new section to Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, as enacted by Chapter 123 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland of. 1898, title 'City of Bal-
timore, ' sub-title 'Thieves and Pickpockets, ' said new section
so added to said Article 4 to come in immediately after Sec-
tion 783 of said Article 4 and to be known as Section 783-A
of said Article 4, making it a misdemeanor for any person
convicted in any jurisdiction of the crime of larceny of cur-
rent money or of attempted larceny from the person to be
found within ten years of such conviction at certain public
places in Baltimore city, together with or in company of any
other person convicted of either of said offenses within ten
years of the conviction of such other person, and providing
the penalty therefor. 7' [Which was read the first time and
referred to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. ]

By Mr. Mudd: Senate Bill No. 567, entitled "An Act to
authorize and empower the Potomac River and Baltimore Rail-
way Company a corporation of the State of Maryland, and
the Washington-Newport News Short Line, a corporation of
the State of Virginia, to construct, maintain and operate a
bridge and approaches thereto across the Potomac River. "
[Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee
on Corporations. ]

By the President: Senate Bill No. 568, entitled "An Act
to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Chapter 38 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1864, as the same is
codified in Section 444 of Article 27 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland of 1910 (as legalized by Chapter 16 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1914), title
'Crimes and Punishments, ' sub-title 'Thieves and Pickpockets, '

and as the same is also codified in Section 783 of Article 4
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, as enacted by
Chapter 123 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1898, title 'City of Baltimore, ' sub-title 'Thieves and Pick-
pockets. ' " [Which was read the first time and referred to
the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. ]

By Mr. Johnson: Senate Bill No. 569, entitled "An Act
to add two new sections to Article 42 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, title 'Habeas Corpus, ' sub-title 'Jurisdiction and
