INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.
By the President: Senate Bill No. 467, entitled "An Act
to add a new section to Article 81 of Bagby's Code of Public
Civil Laws of Maryland, title 'Revenue and Taxes, ' sub-title
'Bonus Tax, ' to be known as Section 106-A. " [Which was
read the first time and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings. ]
By the President: Senate Bill No. 468, entitled "An Act to
add an additional section to Article 16 of Bagby's Code of
Public Civil Laws of Maryland, title 'Chancery, ' to be known
as Section 229-A, relating to testimony in certain cases in
equity. " [Which was read the first time and referred to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings. ]
By the President: Senate Bill No. 469, entitled "An Act
to add an additional section to Article 21 of Bagby's Code
of Public Civil Laws of Maryland, title 'Conveyancing, ' to be
known as Section 97, relating to the payment of the cost of
United States Internal Revenue Stamps required on deeds and
other conveyances, except mortgages. " [Which was read the
first time and referred to the Committee on Judicial Pro-
ceedings. ]
By Mr. Parsons: Senate Bill No. 470, entitled "An Act to
regulate the length of the school year for the colored schools
in Somerset county, Maryland, and to provide for the levying
by the County Commissioners of said county of the funds
necessary for the payment of the expenses necessary for the
same. " [Which was read the first time and referred to Sena-
tors Parsons, Bennett and Harrison. ]
By Mr. Legg: Senate Bill No. 471, entitled "An Act to
authorize and empower the County Commissioners of Queen
Anne's county to borrow upon the faith and credit of said
county, a sum not exceeding sixty thousand dollars ($60, 000),
and to issue and sell coupon bonds therefor, for the purpose of
building and improving public roads, and for the building
of new bridges and culverts, wherever the County Road Engi-
neer of Queen Anne's county and the County Commissioners
may deem it necessary, and for the purpose of building and
improving public roads under the provisions of Chapter 225
of the Acts of 1904, and amendments thereto, known as the
State-aid, or Shoemaker Road Law, and to provide for the
levy and collection of taxes to meet the interest and principal
of said bonds as and when the same shall become due. "
