By Mr. Legg: Senate Bill No. 395, entitled "An Act to re-
peal Section 478 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, title 'Criminal Law, ' sub-title 'Vagrants and Tramps, '

and to re-enact said section with amendments. " [Which was
read the first time and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings. ]

By Mr. Warfield: Senate Bill No. 396, entitled "An Act to
incorporate the Maryland Agricultural Society, to foster the
development of the agricultural resources of Maryland and to
utilize all agencies intended to further the interests of rural
people and to promote the welfare of the State, and to appro-
priate a sum of money therefor. " [Which was read the first
time and referred to the Committee on Finance. ']

By Mr. Warfield: Senate Bill No. 397, entitled "An Act re-
quiring the State Roads Commission of Maryland to take over
and maintain the part of the State roads system in Sykes-
ville, and making an appropriation to pay therefor. " [Which
was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Finance. ]

By Mr. Holmead: Senate Bill No. 398, entitled "An Act to
repeal Sections 230 and 233 of Article 81 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, title 'Revenue and Taxes, ' sub-title 'State
Auditor, ' and to re-enact said sections, with amendments;
and also to add two new sections to said Article and sub-title,
one to follow immediately after Section 230 thereof, to be
known as Section 230-A, and authorizing the Comptroller to
call upon the State Auditor to investigate and audit claims
and vouchers, and* the other to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 233 of said Article, to be known as Section 233-A, and
prescribing penalties for the violation of this Act. " [Which
was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Finance. ]

By Mr. Holmead: Senate Bill No. 399, entitled "An Act
to repeal Section 52 and Section 54 of Article 56 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland, title 'Licenses, ' sub-title 'Traders, '

and to re-enact said sections, with amendments; and also to
add ten additional sections to said Article 56, title 'Licenses, '

sub-title 'Traders'; said additional sections to follow immedi-
ately after Section 52 of said Article 56 and to be numbered
respectively 52-A, 52-B, 52-C, 52-D, 52-E, 52-F, 52-G, 52-H, 52-1
and 52-J. " [Which was read the first time and referred to
the Committee on Finance. ]

By Mr. Norris: Senate Bill No. 400, entitled "An Act to
amend Article 23 of the Annotated Code of Public Civil Laws
