repeal Sections 58-A, 58-B, 58-C and 58-D of Article 2 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title 'Anne Arundel
County, ' sub-title 'Annapolis, ' as the same were enacted by
Chapter 696 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1908. " [Which was read the first time and referred to
Senators Duvall, Ogden and Johnson. ]
By Mr. Cooper: Senate Bill No. 392, entitled "An Act to
repeal all laws, Acts and resolutions, or parts thereof, hereto-
fore at any time passed by any General Assembly of the State
of Maryland, making annual and continuing appropriations
out of the funds of the general treasury of the State to or for
the use, benefit, compensation, needs and purposes of any and
all (a) universities, colleges, academies, schools, high schools,
normal schools, seminaries, societies and other institutions
devoted in whole or in part to teaching, learning, training or
education of any and every kind whatsoever, (b) State,
county, and city boards, commissions, bureaus, departments,
officers, officials or employees, including pensions to those who
have been such officers, officials or employees, and (c) corpo-
rations, bodies politic, associations and societies. " [Which
was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Finance. ]
By Mr. Frick: Senate Bill No. 393, entitled "An Act to
repeal Section 173 of the Acts of 1886, Chapter 184, one of the
Public Local Laws of the City of Baltimore, and codified as
Section 316 in the revised Charter of Baltimore city, 1915, re-
lating to appeals from Baltimore city, and to re-enact the
same with amendments. " [Which was read the first time and
referred to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. ]
By Mr. Ogden: Senate Bill No. -394, entitled "An Act to
provide for a Department of Law of the State of Maryland;
prescribing the duties of the Attorney General and fixing his
salary; authorizing the appointment of three Assistant Attor-
neys General, prescribing their duties and fixing their salaries;
providing for law offices and their equipment and an office
force for the said department; and prohibiting certain speci-
fied boards, commissions, departments, officers and institu-
tions of the State Government from employing or continuing
the employment of counsel, and vesting the legal work of such
boards, commissions, departments, officers and institutions in
the Department of Law hereby created. " [Which was read
the first time and referred to the Committee on Finance. ]
