The President submitted a petition of the Park Approach
Protective Association of Baltimore city, favoring the passage
of the Bill providing for the right of initiative in our State
Constitution. [Which was read and referred to the Commit-
tee on Amendments to the Constitution. ]
Also a petition of the Baltimore Preachers' Meeting of
the Methodist Episcopal Church urging upon the Senate of
Maryland the passage of the State-wide Prohibition Bill.
[Which was read and referred to the Committee on Temper-
ance. ]
Also a petition of the Patuxent Grange of Maryland (C.
R. Purdum, secretary, Highland, Howard county, Maryland)
for the establishment of the Torrens system of land titles
registration in Maryland. [Which was read and referred to
the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. ]
Also a petition of the Epworth M. E. Church (Rev. Alvin
T. Perkins, 1813 South Charles street, Baltimore, Maryland;
chairman, W. H. Walter, 1812 South Charles street; secretary,
E. C. Lacher, 1830 Boyd street) protesting against the amend-
ment exempting Baltimore city from the provisions of the
State-wide Prohibition Bill. [Which was read and referred
to the Committee on Temperance. ]
Also a petition from W. G. Purnell and others of Cecil
county against the Bill to amend the marriage laws of the
State. [Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Judicial Proceedings. ] ,
Also a petition of C. S. Longacre, secretary for North
America of the Religious Liberty Association, in favor of a
Bill for the widow-mothers' pension law. [Which was read
and referred to the Committee on Finance. ]
Also a petition of the Board of Directors of the Baltimore
Chamber of Commerce for building an armory for the Fourth
Infantry, Maryland National Guard. [Which was read and
referred to the Committee on Finance. ]
