INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.

By the President, by request: Senate Bill No. 259, entitled "An
Act to amend Section 1 of Article 15, title 'Miscellaneous, ' of
the Constitution of this State, and to provide for the submission
of said amendment to the qualified voters of this State for
adoption or rejection. " [Which was read the first time and
referred to the Committee on Amendments to the Constitu-
tion. ]

By Mr. Johnson: Senate Bill No. 260, entitled "An Act to
appropriate a sum of money to the State Roads Commission
for the purpose of completing the building of the highway
through the village of Elkridge, under the Baltimore and
Ohio Railroad grade-crossing. " [Which was read the first
time and referred to the Committee on Finance. ]

By Mr. Duvall: Senate Bill No. 261, entitled "An Act to
authorize and direct the State Roads Commission to construct
an improved, modern road from the State road at Camp
Parole, Anne Arundel county, Maryland, to the State road at
Bladensburg, Prince George's county, Maryland, along the
lines of the Old Stage road from Annapolis to Washington,
District of Columbia, which road was laid out in 1796, so as
to connect Annapolis, Maryland, and Washington city, Dis-
trict of Columbia, by a direct, improved, modern road, and to
provide for a bond issue to pay for the construction of said road
by the State of Maryland, providing for the repair and upkeep of
said road after its construction and to be known as the Na-
tional Defense Highway. " [Which was read the first time and
referred to the Committee on Finance. ]

By Mr. Jones: Senate Bill No. 262, entitled "An Act to add
two new sections to Article 27 of the Code of Public General
Laws, title 'Crimes and Punishments, ' sub-title 'Fraud Hos-
pitals, ' to follow Section 134 and to be known as Sections
134-A and 134-B. " [Which was read the first time and re-
ferred to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. ]

By Mr. Archer: Senate Bill No. 263, entitled "An Act to
repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 234 of Article
81 of Bagby's Annotated Code of Public General Laws, title
'Revenue and Taxes, ' sub-title 'State Tax Commission, ' as the
same was enacted by Chapter 841 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland at its Session of 1914. " [Which was
read the first time and referred to the Committee on Finance. ]

By Mr. Jones: Senate Bill No. 264, entitled "An Act to
repeal Section 50, Article 43 of the Code of Public General
