BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 6, 1916.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

The House of Delegates has organized by the election of
Hon. Philip D. Laird as Speaker, and Albert J. Almoney as
Chief Clerk.

We are now ready to proceed with the business of the
session, and propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable
Body, the appointment of a joint committee of the two
Houses—two members on the part of the Senate and three on
the part of the House—to wait upon the Governor and in-
form him that the Legislature is prepared to receive any
communication that he may be pleased to make.

We have named on the part of the House, Messrs. Metzerott,,
McDonough and Gardner.

Mr. Warfield submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

January 6, 1916.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message notifying the Senate of the
organization of your Honorable Body, and requesting the
appointment of a joint committee—two on the part of the
Senate and three on the part of the House—to wait upon the
Governor and inform him that the General Assembly is now
prepared to receive any communication which he may desire
to make.

The Senate, having been organized by the election of Hon.
Peter J. Campbell as President and P. Watson Webb as Secre-
tary, we respectfully concur in your message.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Senators
Cooper and Zihlman.

Secretary.
