girls' club work, movable schools, travel and supplies, as a
necessitated by the United States Smith-Lever Act, in order
to make certain appropriations therein contained available
from the United States Congressional appropriations, the sum
of twenty thousand six hundred and fifty-nine dollars; for the
salaries and expenses of the County Agents, the sum of twen-
ty-three thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be neces-
sary; for executive and office expenses, and for expenses for
printing, correspondence courses^ and the employment of spe-
cialists and for conducting extension work that cannot be done
under the United States Acts of appropriations, the sum of five
thousand dollars; for the maintenance of the Department of
Farmers' Institutes, the sum of six thousand dollars; to the
Board of Trustees of the Maryland Agricultural College, for
the purpose of carrying out the provisions of Article 58 of
the Annotated Code of Public General Laws. of Maryland, as
amended by the Acts of the General Assembly of 1916, title
"Live Stock, " the sum of. twenty-five thousand dollars; for the
support of a State Biological Laboratory, and the manufac-
ture and distribution of hog cholera serum, and for such other
work as may be necessary to circumscribe and suppress this
and other diseases, as provided in Chapter 842 of the Acts of
1912, the sum of five thousand dollars; for the purpose of
carrying out the provisions of Chapter 424 of the Acts of 1914,
providing for the inspection of farm seeds, the sum of five
thousand dollars; for the purpose of carrying out the pro-
visions of Article 48 of the Annotated Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, as amended by the Acts of th^ General
Assembly of Maryland of 1916, title "Inspection, " sub-title
"State Horticultural Department, " and for the further pur-
pose of carrying out Sections 74-A, 74-B, 74-C, 74-D, 74-E,
74-F, 74-G, 74-H and 74-I of said Article, relating to the en-
couragement of agriculture, the sum of eight thousand dol-
lars; for paying the salaries of officers, assistants and clerks,
and for defraying the expenses of travel, office rent, and for
the purchase of necessary office supplies and furniture, the
sum of five thousand dollars; and, for deficiency in interest,
the sum of two thousand, forty seven dollars and forty-four
cents.
'Legislature—To pay the President of the Senate a per diem
of eight dollars; for the per diem of twenty-six Senators, five
dollars each; for the per diem of one Secretary of the Senate,
ten dollars; for the per diem of one assistant to the Secretary
of the Senate, seven dollars; for the per diem of one stenog-
rapher to the Secretary of the Senate, five dollars; for the per
