134A. It shall be lawful to close the offices of the Clerk of the
Circuit Court, Register of Wills, County Treasurer [and], County
Commissioners of Dorchester County, and other county offices [at
the hour of twelve o'clock noon] all day on Saturday of each week;
provided any Judge of the Circuit Court or of the Orphans' Court
of said County may order and direct at any time that the said office of
the Clerk of the Circuit Court of AND Register of Wills, respectively
be kept open [after such hour] for a specified period on Saturday,
and the said Clerk and his Deputies and Register of Wills and his
Deputies to remain for such a time as the Judges of said Circuit
Court and Orphans' Court, respectively, may feel necessary for the
convenience of the respective Courts.

185. The County Commissioners shall provide at the public
expense, a suitable office in the Court House for the treasurer and
furnish the same amply and conveniently for the transaction of his
official business, and the said office shall be open for this purpose
each day [in the year, Sundays and legal holidays excepted,] on
which county offices are normally open for business
from nine o'clock
A.M. until four o'clock P.M.;
9 A.M. UNTIL 4:30 P.M.; and the said
Commissioners shall annually levy such sums as may be necessary to
pay the salaries of the treasurer and his clerk, the costs of books, sta-
tionery and stamps in his office, and all printing and advertising
required under the provisions of this [Act] sub-title, and not other-
wise provided for.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 318
(Senate Bill 31)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 142 and
143 of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Dorchester County", sub-title "County Com-
missioners and Treasurer", Section 142 thereof having been
amended by Chapter 451 of the Acts of 1953, and to repeal Sec-
tions 145, 146 and 160 thereof, removing from the local laws of
Dorchester County certain obsolete and incorrect material con-
cerning the election, tenure, powers and duties of the County Com-
missioners of Dorchester County and the filling of a vacancy in
such offices.

Whereas, In Sections 142 and 143 of the local laws of Dorchester
County there are obsolete references to the election of 1917, and
incorrect references to a six-year tenure of office for the County
Commissioners; and

Explanation: Italics indicate new matter added to existing law.
