County", sub-title "County Commissioners", to follow immediately
after Section 178 thereof, and to read as follows:

Section 178 A.

The County Commissioners of Washington County are hereby au-
thorized and empowered to spend funds for facilities of the nature
they deem feasible for the care, custody, and rehabilitation of alco-
holic inmates. The County Commissioners are further authorized and
empowered to appoint advisory and study groups to devise plans for
meeting the problem as they deem necessary and to cooperate with
any local, state, or National Governmental or civic organization to
achieve the end result. Such groups are solely responsible to the
County Commissioners and may not receive any compensation other
than nominal travel allowance and permissible secretarial assistance.
The County Commissioners or any groups appointed by that body
shall coordinate their activities and planning with the Sheriff's office
for Washington County.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 309
(Senate Bill 543)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 71 of
Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Courts", sub-title "Juvenile Causes"; and to repeal Sections
447 to 464, inclusive, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Washing-
ton County (1957 Edition, being Article 22 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland), title "Washington County", sub-title
"Juvenile Court", and to repeal the sub-title "Juvenile Court".

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 71 of Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Courts", sub-title "Juvenile Causes", be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

71.

The provisions of this sub-title shall not apply to the City of Bal-
timore, '[Washington,] Allegany, or Montgomery counties.

Sec. 2, And be it further enacted, That Sections 447 to 464, in-
clusive, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Washington County
(1957 Edition, being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Washington County", sub-title "Juvenile Court",
be and they are hereby repealed; and that the sub-title "Juvenile
Court", be and the same is also hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
May 1, 1963.
