Laws of Maryland), title "Charles County", sub-title "County Com-
missioners", be and it is hereby repealed; and that Section 61 (b)
of the said Code, sub-heading "Miscellaneous Appropriations", be and
it is hereby repealed; and that Sections 120 and 121 of the said Code,
sub-title "Fire Companies", be and they are hereby repealed; and
that new Sections 120 and 121 be and they are hereby enacted in lieu
thereof to stand in the place of the Sections 120 and 121 repealed;
and that Section 122 of the said Code be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, and that new Section 122A be and it is
hereby added to the said Code, to follow immediately after Section
122 thereof, and all to read as follows:

120.    The County Commissioners of Charles County are authorized
to levy on the assessable property of the county annually the sums*
authorized by this sub-title to be distributed and paid by the County
Commissioners to the several organizations listed herein for the
support, maintenance, equipment and operation of the said organ-
izations. No part of any appropriation authorized herein shall be
distributed to any organization which has not been approved by the
Charles County Firemen's Association and which is not organized in
such a manner as to comply with the minimum requirements pre-
scribed by the Association for volunteer fire departments and/or
rescue squads.

121.    (a) The County Commissioners shall pay annually the fol-
lowing sums to the organizations listed below:

(b) $5,000 to the LaPlata Fire Department
$2,500 to the Hughesville Fire Department
$2,500 to the Waldorf Fire Department
$2,500 to the Nanjemoy Fire Department
$2,500 to the Indian Head Fire Department
$2,500 to the Potomac Heights Fire Department
$2,500 to the Fifth District Fire Department
$2,500 to the Tenth District Fire Department
$2,500 to the Benedict Fire Department

$5,000 to the Charles County Central Fire Watch which is
presently maintained at the LaPlata Fire House. This ap-
propriation to the Fire Watch may be used for the payment
of employees.

122.

The County Commissioners [are hereby authorized to pay from the
general funds of the County] shall pay the sum of $1,200 annually to
each of the following rescue squads of the County:

1.   The Indian Head Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad,
Inc.

2.   The Potomac Heights Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue
Squad, Inc.

3.   The Fifth District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue
Squad, Inc.

4. The Benedict Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad,
Inc.
