be allowed by the County Commissioners for certain printing and
publishing.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 114 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Cecil County
(1953 Edition, being Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws),
title "Cecil County", sub-title "County Commissioners", be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
114.
The County Commissioners shall, before making their annual levy
in each and every year, contract for printing and publishing, for
the period of one year from the date of making such contract, all
matters required by law to be published, except the public local laws,
which may be passed at each session of the General Assembly, in
two newspapers, and not more than two, which papers shall be of
large circulation and published in Cecil County [; provided, said
contract shall not allow for compensation for such printing and pub-
lishing a sum exceeding in the aggregate Eight Hundred Dollars].
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 260
(House Bill 511)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 51 (u) of
Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "County Commissioners", sub-title "County Treasurers", to
increase the salary of the County Treasurer of Cecil County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 51 (u) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "County Commissioners", sub-title "County
Treasurers", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
51.
(u) The county treasurer of Cecil County shall receive a salary of
[$5,000.00] $6,500.00.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this Act
shall not be construed to extend or apply to the Treasurer in office
on the effective date hereof, but shall take effect with the next term
of office.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.
