a section concerning the compensation and expense allowance of the
court stenographer for the Second Judicial Circuit; and
Whereas, This section is obsolete as the subject now is covered in
Sections 36, 37 and 38 of Article 26 in the 1957 Annotated Code; and
Whereas, it is desirable to repeal the obsolete section in the local
laws of Cecil County; now, therefore
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 96 of the Code of Public Laws of Cecil County (1953
Edition), being Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Cecil County", sub-title "Circuit Court", sub-heading
"Court Stenographer", be and it is hereby repealed.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 256
(House Bill 507)
AN ACT to repeal Section 138 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Cecil County (1953 Edition), being Article 8 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Cecil County", sub-title "Treas-
urer", said section providing that the County Treasurer of Cecil
County shall collect taxes levied upon motor vehicles by the Town
of Elkton, and being obsolete under later provisions in the An-
notated Code which have repealed the former property tax upon
motor vehicles, and substituted the excise tax in lieu thereof.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 138 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Cecil County
(1953 Edition), being Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Cecil County", sub-title "Treasurer", be and it is
hereby repealed.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

repealing an unnecessary power in the local laws of Cecil County
