To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, Thomas B. Finan, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
DO hereby certify, that at a Municipal Election held in the City of
Cambridge, Dorchester County, Maryland, on July 13th, 1960, an Act
known as Chapter 510 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1959, was submitted to the voters within the corporate limits
of the City of Cambridge, Dorchester County, Maryland, for their
adoption or rejection under the provisions of Chapter 510 of the Acts
of 1959, said Act being as follows:
"An Act to add a new Section to Article 27 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition), title 'Crimes and Punishments',
sub-title 'Sabbath Breaking', said new section to be known as
Section 534A, to follow immediately after Section 534 of said
Article, authorizing the exhibition of motion pictures within
the corporate limits of the City of Cambridge, Dorchester
County, Maryland, on Sunday between the hours of two (2:00)
o'clock P.M. and six (6:00) P.M. and from eight-thirty (8:30)
P.M. until twelve (12:00) P.M., repealing all Public General
and Public Local Laws inconsistent herewith to the extent of
such inconsistency, and providing for a referendum vote there-
and I DO certify, that at said election held in the City of Cam-
bridge, Dorchester County, Maryland, 1,169 votes were cast in favor
of the adoption of Chapter 510 of the Acts of 1959 and 574 votes were
cast against the adoption thereof, and a majority of the votes being
cast in favor of the adoption of said Chapter 510 of the Acts of 1959,
the said Act has been ratified by the Voters of the City of Cambridge,
Dorchester County, Maryland.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my Official Seal at the City of
Annapolis, this 18th day of July, 1960.
