I, Thomas B. Finan, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
DO hereby certify, that at the General Election held in the State of
Maryland on November 8, 1960, an Act known as Chapter 503 of the
Acts of 1959, was submitted to the voters of Howard County under the
provisions of Chapter 503 of the Acts of 1959, said Act being as
follows:
"An Act to add new Section 534A to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title 'Crimes and Punish-
ments', sub-title 'Sabbath Breaking', to follow immediately
after Section 534 thereof, allowing the participation in and the
operation of certain activities on Sundays in Howard County."
AND I DO certify, that at said election 5,892 votes were cast in
favor of adoption of Chapter 503 of the Acts of 1959 and 1,117 votes
were cast against adoption of said Chapter 503 of the Acts of 1959,
the said Act has therefore been ratified by a majority of the qualified
voters of Howard County.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my Official Seal at the City of
Annapolis this 7th day of December, 1960.
