I, Thomas B. Finan, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition), Do
Hereby Certify, that at the General Election held in the State of
Maryland on November 8, 1960, an Act known as Chapter 664 of the
Acts of 1959, was submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland,
pursuant to the provisions of Article 14 of the Constitution of the
State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:
"An Act to propose an amendment to Section 17 of Article II
of the Constitution of Maryland, title 'Executive Department'
LIMITING THE provision for further consideration of CER-
TAIN BILLS by General Assembly in event Bill is vetoed
by Governor following adjournment of General Assembly or
which fails to become law by reason of not having been signed
by Governor following adjournment of General Assembly; and
submitting this amendment to the legally qualified voters of
the State for their adoption or rejection."
AND I DO certify, that at said election 255,922 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 664 of the Acts of 1959, and
139,507 votes were cast against adoption of said Chapter 664 of the
Acts of 1959, the said Act has therefore been ratified by a majority
of the qualified voters of the State of Maryland.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my official seal at the City of
Annapolis this 20th day of December, 1960.
