UPON THE DUTIES OF THEIR OFFICES, TAKE AND SUB-
SCRIBE BEFORE A JUDGE OR THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT
COURT FOR THE COUNTY, AN OATH THAT HE OR SHE, AS
THE CASE MAY BE, WILL KEEP SECRET ALL MATTERS AND
THINGS PERTAINING TO THE STATE'S ATTORNEY'S
OFFICE, EXCEPT SUCH AS MUST BE DISCLOSED BY LAW
OR FOR THE PROPER ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE.
(r) Queen Anne's County.—In Queen Anne's County, (1) the
State's Attorney's salary is twenty-four hundred dollars ($2,400).
(2) The State's Attorney's special fund allowance for the cost of
making investigations and the general promotion of justice in the
county is two thousand dollars ($2,000). Expenditures from this
allowance shall be accounted for to the Board of County Commis-
sioners at the end of each year, and any balance remaining in the
fund at the end of a fiscal year reverts to the general funds of the
county.
(3) The State's Attorney's allowance for clerical and secretarial
hire, rental and general office expenses is twenty-eight hundred
dollars ($2,800).
(s) St. Mary's County.—In St. Mary's County, (1) the State's
Attorney's salary is three thousand dollars ($3,000).
(2) The State's Attorney's allowance for expenses incidental to
his office is thirty-six hundred dollars ($3,600).
(t) Somerset County.—In Somerset County, (1) the State's At-
torney's salary is twenty-four hundred dollars ($2,400).
(2) The State's Attorney's allowance for the expenses of his office
is one thousand dollars ($1,000).
(u) Talbot County.—In Talbot County, (1) the State's Attorney's
salary is four thousand dollars ($4,000) FIVE THOUSAND DOL-
LARS ($5,000).
(2) The State's Attorney's allowance for secretarial expenses is
eighteen hundred dollars ($1,800).
(v) Washington County.—In Washington County, (1) the
State's Attorney's salary is five thousand dollars ($5,000) SIXTY-
FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($6,500).
(2) The deputy State's Attorney's salary is twenty-four hundred
dollars ($2,400) FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($4,000). THE
DEPUTY STATE'S ATTORNEY SHALL SERVE AT THE
PLEASURE OF THE STATE'S ATTORNEY. UNDER THE
DIRECTION OF THE STATE'S ATTORNEY, THE DEPUTY
STATE'S ATTORNEY SHALL PRESENT CASES TO THE
GRAND JURIES OF WASHINGTON COUNTY AND PERFORM
SUCH OTHER ACTS AND DUTIES IN RELATION TO THE
GRAND JURIES AND IN THE OPERATION OF THE OFFICE
AS ARE NECESSARY AND PROPER.
(3) The State's Attorney's allowance for the expenses of his
office is twenty-five hundred dollars (2,500).
(w) Wicomico County.—In Wicomico County, (1) the State's
Attorney's salary is four thousand dollars ($4,000). FIVE THOU-
SAND DOLLARS ($5,000).
