CHAPTER 836
(House Bill 635)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37 (p)
of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1960 Supple-
ment), title "Sheriffs," sub-title "Compensation and Duties," re-
lating to the salary of the Sheriff of Prince George's County and
to the compensation of his employees.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37 (p) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland

That Section 655 (a) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1953 Edition, being Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Prince George's County",
sub-title "Fire Companies", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, and that new Section 656 (o) be and it
is hereby added to said Code, to follow immediately after Section
656 (n) thereof, Section 655 (a) having been last amended by Chapter
686 of the Acts of 1957, which chapter also added Section 656 (n)
thereto, and all to read as follows:

655.

(a) The provisions of this section shall apply to and be effective
in the following election districts of Prince George's County; 1st
(Vansville); 2nd (Bladensburg); 3rd (Marlboro); 4th (Nottingham);
5th (Piscataway); 6th (Spauldings); 7th (Queen Anne); 8th
(Aquasco); 9th (Surratts); 11th (Brandywine); 12th (Oxon Hill);
13th (Kent); the 1st and 2nd precincts of the 14th (Bowie); 15th
(Mellwood);
18th (Seat Pleasant); 20th (Lanham); 21st (Berwyn);
and the incorporated Town of Edmondston in the 1st Precinct of the
16th Election District (Hyattsville).

656.

(o) In the Fifteenth Election District (Mellwood), the proceeds
of said tax shall be divided and paid by the County Commissioners
every six months to the respective Treasurers of the following com-
panies in the amounts specified (1) The Forestville Volunteer Fire
Department, Inc., 30%; (2) the Marlboro Volunteer Fire
Depart-
ment, Inc., 20%
; (3) The Volunteer Fire Department of Brandywine,
Maryland, Inc. 20%; (4) the District Heights Volunteer Fire De-

partment, Inc., 10%; (5) the Morningside Volunteer Fire Depart-

ment, Inc., 10%; and (6) The Clinton Volunteer Fire Department,

Inc., 10% (1) THE FORESTVILLE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPART-
MENT, INC., 25%; (2) THE MARLBORO VOLUNTEER FIRE DE-
PARTMENT, INC., 25%; (3) THE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPART-
MENT OF BRANDYWINE, MARYLAND, INC., 25%; AND (4)
THE CLINTON VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT, INC., 25%.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
January 1, 1962.
