dens, consulting physicians and chaplains of the Maryland Peniten-
tiary; the shorthand reporter of the Public Service Commission; the
archival assistants, manuscript repairer's assistants, general assist-
ants, secretaries, janitors, watchmen and other employees of the Hall
of Records; all employees of the State Roads Commission taken into
the merit system by executive order on or about January 1,1939, in-
cluding among others the following: The chief engineer, consulting
engineers, workmen's compensation administrators, workmen's com-
pensation investigators and sign permit inspectors; and the chief
supervisor of assessments and all assistant State supervisors of
assessments appointed after June 1, 1957, by the State Tax
Commission.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

(Senate Bill 80)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Section 714 (r)
of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1960 Supple-
ment), title "Natural Resources", sub-title "Oysters and Clams",
correcting an error in the laws relating to penalties for the viola-
tion of certain provisions concerning the clam laws applicable in
Queen Anne's County.
Whereas, in the clam laws which apply to Queen Anne's County,
and in that portion which concerns penalties, there is a reference to
certain "sub-titles"; and
Whereas, this reference obviously should be to "sub-sections" and
should be corrected to avoid any confusion in the application of this
law; now, therefore,
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 714 (r) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1960 Supplement) title "Natural Resources", sub-title "Oysters
and Clams", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments to read as follows:
714.
(r) Any person violating any of the provisions of this section
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof,
unless otherwise herein specified, shall be fined not less than ten
dollars ($10.00) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200.00).
(1) Excepting violations of [sub-titles] sub-sections (c), (d),
(e), (f) and (j), any person found guilty by a court of law of three
violations of the provisions of this section within any twelve (12)
month period may, in addition to the fine herein prescribed, have his
license suspended or revoked by the Commission of Tidewater Fish-
eries, after a hearing thereon by the Commission after ten (10)
