Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 196 (c) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources", sub-title "Birds,
Game and Inland Water Fish", sub-heading "Deer", be and is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

196.

(c) It shall be unlawful for any person to make use of a dog in
hunting deer and every person who takes a dog into the woods or
who has possession or control of a dog in the woods and uses same
for chasing, taking or killing a deer shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Any dog or dogs found pursuing any deer may be killed by any deputy
game warden of this State or any other person, provided that the pro-
visions of this sentence shall not be applicable in Baltimore, Harford,
Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's, Somerset and Worcester
counties. Except that in Caroline, Dorchester, Talbot, Kent, Anne
Arundel, Cecil, Charles, Garrett, St. Mary's, Queen Anne's, Frederick,
CARROLL and Calvert counties, dogs that are engaged in fox hunt-
ing and who have broken away therefrom, shall not be liable to be
killed under this subsection.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 794
(House Bill 864)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 127 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent County (1959 Edition, being
Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Kent County", sub-title "County Treasurer", to increase the an-
nual compensation of the Deputy Treasurer of Kent County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 127 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent County
(1959 Edition, being Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Kent County", sub-title "County Treasurer", be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

127. The Treasurer shall appoint a deputy Treasurer who shall
qualify under the Constitution of the State, and shall give such bond
to the Treasurer as he may require, and the deputy Treasurer shall
receive as compensation effective June 1, 1959 1961, an annual salary
of [Twenty-eight Hundred Dollars ($2,800.00)] three thousand two
hundred dollars ($3,200.00),
payable in equal monthly installments.
