[The said trial magistrates shall receive a minimum annual salary-
equal to that received in the year 1958.]

119(a).

Appointment; bonds; compensation.—In addition to the justices
of the peace and justices of the peace at large hereinbefore speci-
fied, the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate,
shall appoint one justice of the peace at large for each county of the
State, except Montgomery and Kent counties, who shall be desig-
nated "substitute trial magistrate." Such magistrate shall post the
bond required of trial magistrates and shall receive a salary of
$100.00 per year, except there shall be [three] four substitute mag-
istrates appointed for Baltimore County, each of whom shall receive
[$1,800.00] $2,000,00 per year in addition to the compensation
received when actually sitting as a substitute as hereinafter pro-
vided, and except the substitute magistrate appointed for Somerset
County, who shall receive five hundred dollars ($500.00) per year in
addition to the compensation received when actually sitting as a sub-
stitute, as hereinafter provided, and except the substitute magistrate
appointed for Prince George's County, who shall receive $3,000.00
per year in full compensation for his services for actually sitting as
a substitute and such substitute shall serve as is otherwise herein
provided for substitute trial magistrates in the place and stead of
the regular trial magistrate for said county but in addition shall sit
at least twice a month at one of the places regularly assigned for
hearing by the trial magistrates the hours for which shall be set up
by schedule for evenings, and except the substitute magistrate
appointed for Cecil County, who shall receive $300.00 per year in
addition to the compensation received when actually sitting as a sub-
stitute, as hereinafter provided. And in Wicomico County said sub-
stitute trial magistrate shall receive a salary of $800.00 per year.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 137
(Senate Bill 244)

AN ACT to repeal Section 699 of Article 11 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Frederick County",
sub-title "Receiving or Purchasing Poultry", and to repeal said
sub-title, repealing an obsolete local law of Frederick County con-
cerning the receiving or purchase of certain types of poultry.
