II. And be it enacted, That immediately after the paffage of this act the fees
of the examiner on the eaftern fhore fhall be and they are hereby increafed thirty-
three and one third per cent, in addition to his fees already allowed by law.

C H A P. CVIII.
An ACT authoring Henry Stevenfon, collector of Baltimore
county, to complete his collections.
WHEREAS Henry Stevenfon, late collector of Baltimore county, hath
fet forth by his petition to this general affembly, that there is ftill
due to him as collector a confiderable fum of money, which he has
been unable to collect, and prays that a longer time may be allowed him to com-
plete the collection of the fame,

II. Be it enacted, by the General Affembly of Maryland, That the faid Henry
Stevenfon be and he is hereby authorifed to collect all balances due him as col-
lector for the laft year, at any time before the firft day of October next, in the
fame manner as he could or might have done whilft he was collector, any law to
the contrary notwithstanding.

III. Provided always, and be it enacted, That the faid Henry Stevenfon,
before he proceeds to execute or diftrain the property of any perfon or perfons
for officers fees or taxes, fhall, at leaft ten days before fuch execution or diftrefs,
deliver to the perfon chargeable with the fame an account, written in words at
full length, of the taxes demanded of him, her or them, with an affidavit an-
nexed to the fame, that he hath not, to the beft of his knowledge, received any
part thereof, nor any thing in fecurity or fatisfaction for the fame, more than the
credits given; and provided alfo, that the faid Henry Stevenfon, before he de-
rives any benefit from or under this act, fhall lodge his collector's books in the
clerk's office of Baltimore county court, to be there open to the infpection of all
perfons interefted in the fame.

C H A P. CIX.
An additional fupplement to the act, entitled, An act relating to
public roads in this ftate, and to repeal the acts of affembly
therein mentioned.

Be it enacted, by the General Affembly of Maryland, That fo much of the
feventh fection of the faid original act, paffed at November feffion, feventeen
hundred and ninety-four, as directs the feveral fupervifors to give bond,
with fuch fecurity as fhall be approved by the faid juftices, be and hereby is re-
pealed, fo far as it concerns Baltimore county, and that inftead thereof, every
fupervifor appointed in Baltimore county in virtue of the faid act fhall, within
thirty days next after his appointment, give bond to the ftate of Maryland, with
fuch fureties as fhall be approved by the clerk of the faid county, who is here-
by directed and required to take the fame, in double the fum that may be ap-
portioned by the levy court to be expended or laid out by the faid fupervifor ;
provided, that no fecurity fhall be approved as aforefaid by the clerk of the faid
county, unlefs it be eftablifhed, to the fatisfaction of fuch clerk, that each and
every fuch furety be feized and poffeffed, in his own right, of a clear freehold
eftate of the value of double the fum of money that may be apportioned as afore-
faid by the levy court of faid county to be expended by the faid fupervifor.

II. And be it enacted, That from and after the firft day of May next, one
fourth of the juftices of Baltimore county fhall be a fufficient number to confti-
tute a quorum, to do and perform in faid county all matters and things which
by the faid original act, and fupplements aforefaid, the juftices, or a majority of
them, were authorifed and empowered to do and perform in faid county.
