the face of each Restricted Electrician license shall be plainly stated
the specific type of device upon which the licensee shall be privileged
to perform electrical repair and maintenance work. Such licensees
shall not be privileged to make original installation of said specific de-
vices, nor to perform electrical wiring by way of repair or replace-
ment which requires making direct connection with the main electri-
cal service line of any building or structure. The board shall have
authority to issue Restricted Electrician licenses for the following
purposes:

(1) For the repair and maintenance of electrically operated heat-
ing, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.

(2) For the repair and maintenance of electrically operated signs.

(3) For the repair and maintenance of other specifically desig-
nated electrically operated equipment.

8-11.

Four times each year, i. e., during the months of January, April,
July and October, the Board shall conduct written examinations of
eligible applicants for the licenses of Master Electrician and
Restricted Electrician. Written notice of the date, hour and place of
examination shall be mailed to each eligible applicant at least four-
teen (14) days prior to the date of the examination.

8-12.

(a) Any person desiring to secure a license as a Master or Re-
stricted Electrician shall submit to the Board on forms provided by
the Board his application for permission to take the required written
examination for the license of his choice, together with an applica-
tion fee of $5. 00. All information necessary to complete said applica-
tion shall be furnished by the applicant in writing and under oath to
the best of his knowledge, information and belief.

(b) Applicants for either class of license must be at least 21 years
of age.

(c) An applicant seeking permission to take the written examina-
tion for the license of Master Electrician must either

(1) have been continuously engaged during the three years im-
mediately preceding the date of his application as an apprentice,
journeyman or helper under the direction and supervision of a Master
Electrician licensed in Anne Arundel County or

(2) have successfully completed at a trade school or other educa-
tional institution a formal course of study of and training in electrical
installations which, in the opinion of the Board, should have pro-
vided him with the knowledge and skill required of a Master

Electrician,

(d) An applicant seeking permission to take the written ex-
amination for the license of Restricted Electrician must have

(1) complied with either sub-section (c)(l) or sub-section (c) (2),
supra, or
