House Bill No. 2—By Mr. Imber:

A Bill entitled "An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Sections 324 (f), 325, 326 (b) and 326 (e) of Article 81 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1960 Supplement as amended by Chapter 655 of the
Acts of the Regular Session of 1961), title 'Revenue and Taxes', sub-title
'Retail Sales Tax Act', repealing the retail sales tax on certain foods
for human consumption and increasing the minimum taxable sale under
the Retail Sales Tax Act from twenty-five cents (25^) to fifty-one cents
(51^); and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 373 of said
Article (as amended by Chapter 655 of the Acts of the Regular Session of
1961), sub-title 'Maryland Use Tax' increasing under the Maryland Use
Tax Act the minimum taxable sale from twenty-five cents (25c) to fifty-
one cents (51c). "

House Bill No. 3—By the Washington County Delegation:

A Bill entitled "An Act to authorize and empower the County Com-
missioners of Washington County to borrow an amount not to exceed
Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200, 000. 00) and to issue notes and/or
bonds therefor, for the purpose of constructing and acquiring public
junior or community college buildings and facilities in Washington County,
to purchase land therefor and equip these schools, and to pay archi-
tectural fees and other professional fees in connection with such con-
struction. "

House Bill No. 4. —By the Anne Arundel County Delegation:

A Bill entitled "An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Section 2 of Chapter 593 of the Acts of 1951 as said section was amended
by Chapter 137 of the Acts of 1959 and by Chapter 739 of the Acts of
1961, amending the law which concerns a contribution by the County
Commissioners of Anne Arundel County toward the cost of general hos-
pital facilities available to residents of Northern Anne Arundel County
in order to remove therefrom a proviso which requires at least equal
contributions by the particular hospital involved before the Board of
County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County sells the bonds authorized
under said Acts. "

House Bill No. 5—By Mr. Linton:

A Bill entitled "An Act to add a new Section 326 (u) to Article 81
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1960 Supplement), title "Revenue
and Taxes', sub-title 'Retail Sales Tax Act', including among the exemp-
tions under the Retail Sales Act the sale of the tobacco products generally
known as cigarettes. "
