or refufe to pay the fame, it fhall and may be lawful for the faid Thomas Bond
and Henry Richardfon, or fuch perfon or perfons as may be authorifed by them
or the furvivor of them for Harford county, and Thomas Ringgold and Mi-
chael Corfe, or fuch perfon or perfons as may be authorifed by them, or the fur-
vivor of them, for Kent county, to collect the fame in their feveral and refpective
counties by execution or diftrefs of property of the perfon or perfons fo refufing
or neglecting, and to fell and difpofe thereof at public auction at the expiration of
five days, exclufive of the day of feizure and day of fale.

CHAP.
V.

III. And be it enacted, That the faid Thomas Bond, Henry Richardfon Tho-
mas Ringgold and Michael Corfe, fhall be entitled to the fame commiffions upon
their refpective collections as fheriffs are by law entitled to for the collection of
amerciaments and officers fees.

CHAP. VI.
An ACT to authorife the chancellor to grant deeds and patents
in certain cafes.

WHEREAS Henry Hollingfworth, during his agency for the ftate of
Maryland, did purchafe in, for the ufe and benefit of this ftate, fun-
dry tracts and parts of tracts of land, the property of ftate debtors,
which faid property was afterwards difpofed of by Randolph Brandt Latimer, the
prefent agent for the ftate of Maryland: And whereas the faid Randolph Brandt
Latimer, agent for the ftate of Maryland, hath fold the faid lands to a confider-
able amount, under the feveral acts of affembly appointing him agent, and no
power is given by any law of this ftate to any perfon to grant deeds or patents to
the purchafers thereof ;

Preamble.

II. Be it enacted, by the General Affembly of Maryland, That the chancellor
fhall be authorifed, and he is hereby directed and required, to grant deeds to any
of the purchafers of the faid lands, or any part thereof, bought in by Henry
Hollingfworth, and afterwards fold by the faid Randolph Brandt Latimer on ac-
count of the ftate, or to the legal reprefentatives of fuch purchafers, for fuch
eftate or intereft therein as was fold by the faid agent, upon his, her or their
making it appear to him that they have complied with the terms of the fales fo
made.

III. And be it enacted, That in all cafes where fales of real property in fee-
fimple, or for any Ids eftate or intereft, have been or fhall be made by the faid
Randolph Brandt Latimer, under the feveral acts of affembly appointing him
agent for the ftate of Maryland, or by any other perfon or perfons authorifed by
the faid ftate, that the chancellor fhall have power and authority to grant deeds
and patents to the purchafers of the faid real property, or their heirs, executors,
administrators or affigns, as the cafe may require, for fuch eftate and intereft
therein as was or fhall be fo fold, and according to the conditions of fuch fale,
upon his, her or their making it appear to him that they have complied with
the terms of the faid fales.

market in Frederick-town, in Frederick county, and for the
regulation of the faid market.

Be it enacted, by the General Affembly of Maryland, That fo much of an
act, entitled, An act to eftablifh a market in Frederick-town, in Frede-
rick county, and for the regulation of the faid market, as authorifes and
empowers the clerk of faid market to rent or hire out the rooms and apartments
over the market-houfe, be and the fame is hereby repealed abrogated made null
and void, and that from and after the end of the prefent feffion of affembly the
commiffioners of Frederick-town, appointed under and purfuant to an act paffed
at November feffion, feventeen hundred and eighty-fix, entitled, An act to im-
prove and repair the ftreets in Frederick-town, in Frederick county, and for other
