CHAPTER 87
(Senate Bill 55)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 170 of
Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title "Peninsula General
Hospital", amending the laws concerning the authority of the
Board of County Commissioners of Wicomico County to levy and
appropriate money to the Peninsula General Hospital in Salisbury
and validating certain former levies and appropriations made to
the hospital by the Board of County Commissioners.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 170 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title "Penin-
sula General Hospital", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, and to read as follows:
170. The County Commissioners of Wicomico County are hereby
authorized and empowered to levy a sum of money each year [not
exceeding five hundred dollars] in such amount as may be determined
by the Board of County Commissioners from time to time, and
appropriate the same to the use of the Peninsula General Hospital
of Salisbury, Maryland, on such terms and conditions as the said
County Commissioners may deem best.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That any and all levies and
appropriations of funds made by the Board of County Commissioners
of Wicomico County to the said Peninsula General Hospital from
time to time prior to June 1, 1959, are validated, confirmed and
legalized in all respects.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

(Senate Bill 56)
AN ACT to repeal Section 29 of Article 23 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County",
sub-title "Cruelty to Animals", and to repeal said sub-title, repeal-
ing obsolete and inapplicable laws of Wicomico County concerning
cruelty to animals.
