Whereas, In Section 29 of the local laws of Wicomico County it is
provided that certain local laws of Baltimore City relating to cruelty
to animals should apply also in Wicomico County; and
Whereas, This Section was enacted in 1880, since which time the
local laws of Baltimore City have been repealed; and
Whereas, The Section is now inapplicable and the subject is cov-
ered adequately in state-wide laws; now, therefore
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 29 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title
"Cruelty to Animals", be and it is hereby repealed, and that said
sub-title be and is hereby repealed.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 89
(Senate Bill 57)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 71, 72 and 73 of Article 23 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico
County", sub-title "Drugs", and to repeal the said sub-title, these
sections relating to the sale or disposition within Wicomico County
of certain drug preparations specified by name and being obsolete
and unnecessary in view of State-wide laws concerning the sale
and disposition of drugs.
Whereas, Sections 71, 72 and 73 of the Local Laws of Wicomico
County concern the sale or disposition of such products as Turling-
ton's Balsam, Jamaica Ginger, Picnic Ginger or any similar prepa-
rations, these laws having been enacted in the year 1912; and
Whereas, County officials agree that the laws are obsolete and
unnecessary in view of more recent State-wide legislation concerning
the sale and disposition of drugs; now, therefore
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 71, 72 and 73 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title
"Drugs", be and they are hereby repealed, and that said sub-title be
and is hereby repealed.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.
