316. SIZE AND CREEL LIMIT. — DURING THE OPEN
SEASON, IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON TO
CATCH, TAKE OR KILL IN ANY MANNER, OR HAVE IN POS-
SESSION ANY BLACK BASS LESS THAN NINE (9) INCHES
IN LENGTH OR ANY PIKE LESS THAN FOURTEEN (14)
INCHES IN LENGTH. IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL DURING
THE OPEN SEASON, FOR ANY PERSON TO CATCH BY
MEANS OF ROD, HOOK AND LINE, MORE THAN FIVE (5)
BLACK BASS OR TEN (10) PIKE IN ANY ONE DAY.

317.

(a). It shall be unlawful to catch wall-eyed pike (commonly known
as Susquehanna salmon) in any manner OTHER THAN BY ROD,
HOOK AND LINE, in the tidal waters of the State of Maryland,
except from March 15 to November 30 in each and every year. It
shall also be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to sell, pur-
chase or offer to purchase or to have in possession, or to deliver to
any private or common carrier for transportation, or for any private
or common carrier to accept for transportation, or for any person
to transport or carry or cause to be transported or carried by any
means whatsoever, any wall-eyed pike (commonly known as Susque-
hanna salmon) caught in the tidal waters of the State of Maryland,
except from March 15 to November 30 in each and every year. ;
PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT ANY PERSON CATCHING
WALLEYED PIKE BY ROD, HOOK AND LINE AT ANY TIME
DURING EACH YEAR SHALL BE ENTITLED TO POSSESS
AND TRANSPORT THE SAID FISH SO CAUGHT.

(b). Except that it shall always be lawful to take such wall-eyed

pike by means of hook and line at any time of the year, and to have

the same in possession.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 630
(House Bill 406)

AN ACT to repeal Section 468 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments",
sub-title "Throwing or Dumping; Dumps, Junk Yards, etc.", and
to enact new Section 468 in lieu thereof, to stand in the place and
stead of the section so repealed, relating to throwing, dumping
or depositing OR LEAVING any trash, junk or other refuse on
the land of another or on any public property AND PROVIDING
PENALTIES THEREFOR.
