J. MILLARD TAWES, GOVERNOR                               947

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 468 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments", subtitle "Throwing
or Dumping; Dumps, Junk Yards, etc.", be and it is hereby repealed,
and that a new section 468 be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof,
to stand in the place of the section so repealed and to read as follows:

468. It is unlawful for any person to throw, dump, or deposit OR
LEAVE any trash, junk or other refuse upon the land or property of
another without the written consent having been first obtained from
the owner or unless the act is done under the personal direction of said
owner. And it is unlawful for any person to throw, dump, or deposit
any trash, junk or other refuse upon any public property, including
but not limited to, public highways, buildings, beaches, parks, and.

waters. Where trash, junk or other refuse is is thrown, dump dumped or

deposited from any motor vehicle, truck or water craft the operator

of said motor vehicle, truck or water craft shall also be subjected to

the penalties of this section.

Violation of this section is a misdemeanor and any person con-
victed thereof before a justice of the peace or court of proper juris-
diction is punishable by a fine of not less than $5.00 nor more than
$250.00, or by imprisonment of not less than thirty (30) nor more
than ninety (90) days, or both. In addition, the license of any person
engaged in hunting or fishing who violates the provisions of this

section shall be suspended for ten (10) days.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 631
(House Bill 429)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 175 of
Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Licenses", sub-title "Miscellaneous Licenses", eliminating
the differential in fee between the license for the first bowling
alley and additional bowling alleys and the limit to be charged
for each place, and requiring all licenses to be prorated quarterly.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 175 of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Miscellaneous Licenses",
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
