title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Cruelty to Animals",
requiring that female dogs in heat must be confined in Cecil,
WICOMICO County AND DORCHESTER COUNTIES.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 70 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Cruelty
to Animals", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
70. Allowing female dog in heat to run at large in Cecil, Howard
and , Harford AND WICOMICO counties.
In Cecil, DORCHESTER, Howard [County] and , [in] Harford
AND WICOMICO [County] Counties, it shall be unlawful for the
owner or custodian of a female dog while in oestrus or in a condition
commonly known as "in heat" or "in season" to knowingly allow the
same to run at large. Every person violating the provisions of this
section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction
thereof, shall be subject to a fine of not more than twenty-five dollars.
Provided further that in Cecil County DORCHESTER AND WI-
COMICO COUNTIES the owner or custodian of said female dog
shall keep said female dog confined during said period aforementioned.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 626
(House Bill 348)
AN ACT to add new Section 120B to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Cecil County (1953 Edition, being Article 8 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Cecil County", sub-title
"County Commissioners" to follow immediately after Section 120A
thereof providing for the collection of a Transfer Fee by the
County Commissioners before recording any deed or instrument
transferring an interest in land in Cecil County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 120B be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Cecil County (1953 Edition, being Article 8 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Cecil County",
sub-title "County Commissioners", to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 120A thereof and to read as follows:
120B. There shall be paid to the County Commissioners, before
recording any deed or other instrument involving the transfer of an
interest in land, a Transfer Fee in the amount of $3.00.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.
