of, said Section 252 having been repealed by Chapter 724 of 1953,
authorizing the County Commissioners of Wicomico County to
carry out, maintain and operate certain works of improvement.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 23 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Wicomico County", sub-title "County Commissioners", said new
section to be known as Section 252A and to follow immediately after
Section 252 thereof, and to read as follows:
252A. The Board of County Commissioners of Wicomico County
is hereby authorized and empowered to carry out, maintain and
operate the following works of improvement:
1. Soil conservation;
2. Water conservation;
S. Flood prevention (including structural and land treatment
measures); and
4. Agricultural phases of conservation, development, utilization
and disposal of water including group drainage projects.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Section is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having been
passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of the
members elected to each of the two houses of the General Assembly,
the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to add one new section to Article 23 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County",
sub-title "County Commissioners", said new section to be known
as Section 22B and to follow immediately after Section 22A of
said Article, said Section 22A having been added by Chapter 897
of 1947, conferring certain additional powers upon the County
Commissioners of Wicomico County, Maryland.
