missioners. The administrative policies of the hospital shall be in
accordance with those administrative policies of the American Hos-
pital Association.
(b) The County Commissioners are authorized to appropriate in
their discretion, a sum of money annually to the hospital, not to
exceed twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) in any year. Of the
sum appropriated in any year not more than six thousand five hun-
dred dollars ($6,500) shall be expended for salary, room and board of
a resident physician or physicians for the hospital.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to add new Section 84J to Article 9 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Charles County",
sub-title "County Commissioners", to follow immediately after
Section 84-1 thereof as said section was added by Chapter 830 of
the Acts of 1957, establishing a Charles County Beautification
Committee, defining the powers and duties of said Commission, and
providing that the Commissioners shall serve without compen-
sation.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 84J be and it is hereby added to Article 9 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Charles County", sub-title "County Commissioners", to follow im-
mediately after Section 84-1 thereof, as said section was added by
Chapter 830 of the Acts of 1957, and to read as follows:
84J. Charles County Beautification Committee.
The Charles County Beautification Committee is hereby estab-
lished. It shall be composed of six members selected by the County
Commissioner's, who shall name a resident from each election dis-
trict of Charles County. The terms of said Commissioners shall be
four years in duration or until their successors are appointed; pro-
vided that the terms of the first Commissioners shall expire on
December 31, 1962. The members of the Commission shall serve with-
out compensation. The County Commissioners shall appoint the
Chairman, who shall call an organizational meeting promptly after
taking office. The Commission shall be a governmental corporation
charged with the duties herein set forth and it shall meet at least
four times yearly.
