(Senate Bill 537)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 110 of
Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Trial Magistrates System",
relating to the salary and duties of justices of the peace other
than trial magistrates in Anne Arundel County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 110 of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Trial Magis-
trates System", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

110. Compensation of other justices.

Justices of the peace other than trial magistrates shall be paid by
the county commissioners, as full compensation for their official acts
and services in civil and criminal cases, the sum of $20.00 annually,
but in Anne Arundel County they shall receive $200.00 annually and
shall post a sign on their place of business or residence indicating
their official office, and in Kent, Talbot and Queen Anne's counties
shall receive annually the sum of $50.00 and in Washington County
they (shall receive the sum of $100.00 annually and in Howard Coun-
ty, they shall receive the sum of $200.00 annually; but they may re-
tain all fees lawfully charged by them for taking acknowledgments
or affidavits unrelated to their civil or criminal jurisdiction.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to add a new Section 32A to Article 26 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Courts", sub-title "Cir-
cuit Courts for the Counties—Court Stenographers", to follow
immediately after Section 32 thereof, providing an additional
Judge for the Fifth Judicial Circuit to be resident in Anne Arundel
County and relating generally to this; office and to the appoint-
ment to fill the vacancy so created.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 32A be and it is hereby added to Article 26 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Courts",
sub-title "Circuit Courts for the Counties—Court Stenographers",
