J. MILLARD TAWES, GOVERNOR                               605

Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Insurance", sub-
title "Life, Accident and Health Insurance", said new section to
follow immediately after Section 201 and to be known as Section
201A and to read as follows:

201A. Any minor domiciled in this State who has attained the
age of eighteen years shall be deemed competent to receive and to
give full acquittance and discharge for a payment or payments in an
aggregate amount not exceeding two thousand dollars in any one
year, made by any insurer as benefits payable to such minor in
compliance with the provisions of an insurance policy, annuity con-
tract or settlement agreement, if such policy, contract or agreement
specifically provides for payment direct to such minor; provided
that prior to such payment the company has not received written
notice of the appointment of a duly qualified guardian of the property
of such minor. No such minor shall be deemed competent to alienate
the right to, or to anticipate, such payments. Such minor shall not
by reason of minority be entitled to rescind, avoid, or repudiate any
exercise of the right or privilege conferred by this Section, nor shall
this Section be deemed to affect the rights of minors under Section
201 of this Article.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 469
(House Bill 493)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 96 of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Hours and Days for Sale",
relating to the hours during which alcoholic beverages may be sold
in Charles County and amending the alcoholic beverages laws of
said county.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 96 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Hours and
Days for Sale", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows :

96. Charles County.

In Charles County, notwithstanding any other provisions of this
sub-title, it shall be unlawful for any licensee or any agent, servant
or employee of said licensee under this sub-title to sell liquors on
the Sabbath Day, commonly called Sunday, nor shall any liquors be
