CHAPTER 463
(House Bill 381)
AN ACT to add new Section 173A to Article 66C of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources", sub-
title "Birds, Game and Inland Water Fish", sub-heading "Susque-
hanna Flats", to follow immediately after Section 173 thereof,
relating to and prohibiting hook and line fishing, with an exception,
on the Susquehanna Flats and certain tributaries of Chesapeake
Bay prior to and during the wild waterfowl hunting season.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 173A be and it is hereby added to Article 66C of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural Re-
sources", sub-title "Birds, Game and Inland Water Fish", sub-heading
"Susquehanna Flats", to follow immediately after Section 173 thereof,
and to read as follows:
173A. It shall be unlawful for any person to take or catch fish by
means of hook and line on the Susquehanna Flats as that area is
defined in Section 165 of this Article, or in the tidal waters of the
following tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay, Susquehanna River
SOUTH OF THE PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD BRIDGE, Mill
Creek, Furnace Bay, North East River, Elk River, Bohemia River,
Swan Creek, Bush River or Romney Creek during the period of
fourteen days prior to, and extending until the closing day of the
wild waterfowl hunting reason as determined and fixed annually by
the Federal Fish and Wildlife Service. Nothing herein shall prohibit
ice fishing at any time.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.
