fits received as aforesaid, and $125.00 per month, upon application to
the County Commissioners, and said Commissioners shall annually
levy an amount sufficient to pay such additional benefits.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.
SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS ACT
IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEASURE
AND NECESSARY FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRESERVATION
OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY, AND HAVING BEEN
PASSED BY A YEA AND NAY VOTE SUPPORTED BY THREE-
FIFTHS OF THE MEMBERS ELECTED TO EACH OF THE TWO
HOUSES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, THE SAME SHALL
TAKE EFFECT FROM THE DATE OF ITS PASSAGE.

CHAPTER 3
(Senate Bill 8)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 7 (e) of
Article 62B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Maryland Port Authority," to eliminate the requirement
that any conveyance by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore
to the Maryland Port Authority of the structure and land ap-
pertaining thereto now generally known as the Broadway Pier
(Recreation Pier) located at the foot of Broadway in the City
of Baltimore, State of Maryland, shall contain a provision that
upon the happening of certain events the Broadway Pier (Recrea-
tion Pier) shall revert to and become the property of the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore; and clarifying the application of
said section to other terminals or piers.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 7 (e) of Article 62B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Maryland Port Authority," be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
7(e) Any conveyance of the above-mentioned [terminals or
piers] McComas Street Terminal or the National Gypsum Com-
pany Pier shall contain a provision that in the event the Authority
is abolished and the principal functions thereof are not vested in
another board, body or commission, and no bonds issued by the Au-
thority are outstanding and unpaid, then the McComas Street Termi-
nal [,] and the National Gypsum Company Pier [and the Broad-
way Pier (Recreation Pier)] shall revert to and become the prop-
erty of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore.
