AN ACT relating to the Maryland-National Capital Park and
Planning Commission; to add a new section to the Maryland-
Washington .Regional District Act, as enacted by Chapter 992 of
the Laws of 1943, and amendments thereto, said new section to
be known as Section 2-A-(4), the purpose of this Act being to add
to the area included within the Maryland-Washington Regional
District certain areas in Prince George's County not now included
therein and to prohibit municipal corporations within said areas
from exercising powers relating to planning, subdivision control,
and/or zoning.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section is hereby added to the Maryland-Washington
Regional District Act, as enacted by Chapter 992 of the Laws of
1943, and amendments thereto, to be known as Section 2-A-(4) of
said Act, to read as follows:
2-A-(4). The following described areas within Prince George's
County are hereby added to the Maryland-Washington Regional
District:
(a) Beginning at the northwest corner of the Prince George's
County boundary at the point of intersection of the boundary lines
of Montgomery, Howard and Prince George's Counties and the
center line of the Patuxent River; thence southeasterly 11.15 miles
along the center line of the Patuxent River and the northeasterly
boundary of Prince George's County to their point of intersection
with the southern boundary of the U.S. Department of Interior,
Patuxent Research Refuge as described January 1st, 1957, and the
existing Regional District boundary; thence southwesterly 4.3 miles
along the said boundaries to their point of intersection with the
Springfield Hillmeade Road and the existing Regional District
boundary line; thence northwesterly 3.8 miles along the center line
of the Springfield Hillmeade Road and the existing Regional District
boundary line to their point of intersection with the center line of
Odell Road and the existing Regional District boundary line; thence
northeasterly 1.21 miles along the existing Regional District boundary
line and the center line of Odell Road and its northeasterly prolong-
gation to their point of intersection with the northeasterly corner
of the existing Regional District boundary line; thence northwesterly
2.0 miles along the Regional District boundary line to its point of
intersection with the center line of Virginia Manor Road and the
existing Regional District boundary line; thence .5 mile northeast-
erly along the center line of Virginia Manor Road and the existing
Regional District boundary line to their point of intersection with
the center line of Van Dusen Road and the existing Regional
District boundary line; thence westerly 1.9 miles along the center
