Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 413
(Senate Bill 487)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 575 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (1955 Edition,
being Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Baltimore County", sub-title "Title 35—State's Attorney",
as said section was amended by Chapter 732 of the Acts of 1957,
providing for a Deputy State'® Attorney and two assistant State's
Attorneys in Baltimore County, establishing the compensation
for such offices and relating generally to the operations and per-
sonnel of the office of State's Attorney for Baltimore County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 575 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore
County (1955 Edition, being Article 3 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Baltimore County", sub-title "Title 35—
State's Attorney", as said section was amended by Chapter 732 of
the Acts; of 1957, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

575. The State's Attorney for Baltimore County is hereby au-
thorized and empowered to appoint a Deputy State's Attorney at
compensation not exceeding seven thousand five hundred dollars
($7,500) per annum, and
[three] five Assistant State's Attorneys
at a compensation not exceeding [Five Thousand Dollars ($5,-
000.00)] Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000) per annum each, all to be
paid out of the funds coming into the hands of the State's Attorney
for Baltimore County and said Deputy State's Attorney and As-
sistant State's Attorneys to perform such work in the State's At-
torney's Office as he may direct and as they are now or may here-
after be authorized by law to perform.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby de-
clared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having been
passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of the mem-
bers elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT authorizing and directing the Board of Education of
Allegany County to cover the playground at Beall Elementary
