zation or subdivision thereof in furtherance of its purposes.

SEC, 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

(Senate Bill 423)

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Worcester
County to contribute the sum of $25,000.00 toward the construc-
tion of an airport by the Mayor and City Council of Ocean City.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Worcester County are hereby
authorized to contribute the sum of Twenty-five Thousand Dollars
($25,000.00) from the Worcester County General Fund toward the
construction of an airport to be built by the Mayor and City Council
of Ocean City, upon such terms and conditions as the Board of
County Commissioners may by resolution adopt.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 406
(Senate Bill 430)

AN ACT to authorize, empower and direct AUTHORIZE AND EM-
POWER the County Commissioners of Howard County to retire
and pension Mary Dorsey Crook and Sallye Dorsey Ridgely,
employees of Howard County, and to pay said pension out of the
general revenue of the County.

Whereas, Mary Dorsey Crook and Sallye Dorsey Ridgely have
served Howard County with fidelity and efficiency for a great number
of years, and are entitled to retirement and pensions; now, therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Board of County Commissioners of Howard County be, and
they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed, AUTHORIZED
AND EMPOWERED, at any time after the effective date of this
Act, to retire from active duty Mary Dorsey Crook and Sallye Dorsey
