Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Ad-
ministration-Registration-Titling", relating to the issuance of per-
mits by the State Roads Commission for oversize motor vehicles
and prescribing the charge for such permits.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That sub-sections (r) and (s) of Section 81 of Article 66½ of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles",
sub-title "Administration-Registration-Titling", be and the same are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

81.

(r) A fee is hereby imposed on every oversize motor vehicle using
the highways of the State [, the said permit to be issued by the State
Roads Commission]. The State Roads Commission may issue a per-
mit for oversize motor vehicles using the highways of the State, and
the permit shall specify the route to be followed, and the hour and
date on which passage is to be effected and maximum size. The fee
to be charged for said permit shall be $10.00[.] , unless otherwise
provided in this Section.

(s) A charge is hereby imposed on the weight of all vehicles in ex-
cess of that permitted by law and every vehicle having such over-
weight shall secure a permit from the State Roads Commission, the
charge for which shall be $10.00 [.] for a gross weight not exceeding
45 tons. In cases where the gross weight is in excess of 45 tons, the
charge for the permit will be $10.00 for the first 45 tons and $1.00
for each additional ton in excess of 45 tons.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to add thirteen new Sections to Article 66½ of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Motor Vehi-
cles", and to be under a new sub-title to be known as "Operation
of Motor Vehicles on Toll Bridges and Tunnels", said new Sections
to be known as Sections 382 through 394 and to follow immediately
after Section 381 of said Article relating generally to the operation
of motor vehicles upon the Susquehanna River Toll Bridge, Potomac
River Toll Bridge, Chesapeake Bay Toll Bridge and the Baltimore
Harbor Tunnel, sometimes known as the Patapsco Tunnel, and
their approaches, and providing certain laws relating to the oper-
